Appeal for Donation
Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira Alumni Association is earnestly trying
from its inception, to associate itself with the activities to serve Vidyamandira.
Vast is our desire but limited is our ability. Yet we are trying to overcome that
barrier. For supplying purified drinking water in the
Vidyamandira campus, the Alumni Association has already installed eight
"Aquaguard" purifiers. Pecuniary help, though small, is also extended to the
students of the Vidyamandira. We therefore, urge the alumni of our Vidyamandira to
donate generously for the following programmes which we are running.
- Scholarships for poor and meritorious students
It is a matter of great pleasure to announce that the graduates of 1971 contributed over Rs.35 lakh as endowment for scholarship to poor students of Vidyamandira. Students of some other batches also regularly contribute towards scholarship to the students of Vidyamandira. Numerous Alumni also regularly help the present students personally. With the time the number of poor and meritorious students are increasing gradually. The Alumni Association bear the burden to some extent. To support these students financially we wish to enhance the endowment fund with a further amount of at least Rs. 10 Lakh. We invite the same type of enterprise and assistance from other batches as well as from individuals.
- Health Care Project
The Association has taken a new initiative in its Health Care Project along with Belur Shramajibi Swastha Prakalpa Samity (Shramajibi Hospital). We bear a part of the cost of treatment of some of the financially poor patients treated at the Hospital. The number of such needy patients is increasing gradually. Also financial assistance is given to poor students of Vidyamandira for their medical treatment. We also provide financial assistance for treatment of the management appointed non-teaching staff of Vidyamandira. We would also like to provide assistance for treatment of ex-students of Vidyamandira who may face difficult situation due to the increasing cost of treatment. But for this purpose a substantial amount is required to fulfil the above-mentioned needs. To meet these expenses we wish to create an endowment fund of at least Rs. 10 Lakh. We appeal to our alumni to donate generously for this purpose.
- Outreach Programme
The Alumni Association has been undertaking community outreach programmes for the last few years. A decision has been taken to organise such an Outreach Programme once a year. Thus, to fulfill our desire we need to build up a fund of at least Rs. 5 Lakh for this purpose.
